The Partnership Board

  • Anne Phillips – Senior Health Promotion Specialist

 

Anne is a representative of the Vale of Glamorgan Local Public Health Team. Anne has been a Board member for three years. Anne’s key areas of interest are older people, and smoking prevention. One of Anne’s key priorities is reducing the effect of rising fuel bills.

    

  • Jane Clay – Citizens Advice Bureau District Manager

 

Jane has worked closely with Communities First since it’s launch, but has been a member of the Partnership Board since 2007. Jane believes it is a positive programme that can make a difference in communities and that the whole ethos of the programme is about empowerment, and enabling each community to decide what is best for them. Jane feels the values sit very well with the aim of the Citizens Advice Bureau.

 

  • Jane Hutt – Assembly Member

 

Jane has been a member of the Gibbonsdown and Court Communities First Partnership Board since it was set up, to support the local residents to enhance their opportunities. As the local Assembly Member, Jane believes that we should put Communities First areas at the forefront of policy and action.
This has to include all of the partners involved, but the voice of the residents must come first.

 

  • Jay Dave – Chief Inspector

 

South Wales Police are a statutory member of the Partnership Board, and have been attending meetings since 2000.
Representation is at a Senior Officer level demonstrating the importance and commitment. South Wales Police involvement allows Local Community representatives to have direct access to Policing services. The existence of information sharing protocols permits detailed discussion regarding community issues, and associated policing activity which would otherwise not be in the public domain.

 

  • Tony Jaques – Vale of Glamorgan Council – Head of Housing

 

Tony oversees Public Housing Services in the Vale of Glamorgan Council. We are currently seeking to provide an innovative and Customer Centred approach to all our services. The Public Housing Services manages approximately 3800 tenancies throughout the Vale.

 

  • Helen Cocks – Gibbonsdown Resident (Chair)

 

Helen is Chair of the Partnership Board and a Gibbonsdown resident.  Helen is an active member of her community, for example running a parent and toddler group called Little Stars. 

 

  • Clive Curtis – VCVS

 

Clive works at VCVS and focuses on policy and legal issues that impact on voluntary organisations and also works with networks and forums. He also represents the sector on various partnerships and supports other voluntary sector representatives

 

  • Gill Munro – Gibbonsdown Children’s Centre Manager

 

Gill is the manager of the Gibbonsdown  Children’s Centre on Ramsey Road in Gibbonsdown, which provides low cost child care enabling local parents to seek employment without the added concerns regards  high childcare costs.

 

  • Diane McDonald – Gibbonsdown Resident

 

Diane is a local Gibbonsdown resident, and is also the Administrator for the Gibbonsdown Children’s Centre.

 

  • Bronwen Brooks – Court Ward Councillor

 

Bronwen is the elected Labour Councillor for the Court Ward.  Bronwen is also the treasurer for the Communities First people’s Allotment Project.

 

  • Pat Hopkins – Gibbonsdown Resident 

 

Pat is a local Gibbonsdown resident

 

  • Amber Constant – Flying Start Manager

 

Amber is the manager of the local Flying Start on Skomer Road in Gibbonsdown which targets 0-3 year olds in the most disadvantaged areas of Wales.

 

  • Andy Borsden – Youth Service

 

Andy is the Principal Youth Officer with the Youth Service in the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
